    TEMPORARY FAQ:

GLGarden provides free Web space to Girl Lovers who wish to see their thoughts displayed on the Net. It is dedicated to representing the many views of people on the subject of Girl Love. Some of you will write from a personal viewpoint of historical events in child love, a girl moment, or a poetic perspective -- as are featured in the Members' Gallery section. Other web pages will seek to address issues that are scientific, legal, political. or ethical -- as found in the Members' Podium. Through this representation GLGarden hopes to educate the world about Girl Love and provide support for Girl Lovers everywhere. We hope that GLGarden will quickly become a hub of the Girl Love resources on the Web and an important advocate of the online Girl Love movement.

We are only beginning; but, we are making steady progress on the number of new offerings being added to our new resource. The "Members' Gallery" Pages and "Members' Podium" Selections, linked to from "Directions" -- our map site --, continue to grow as members of our community take the initiative to contribute their ideas and talents. We are all excited as we see many more express an interest taking advantage of this free web space to add their voices to those who are publicly advocating for lovers' rights independent of age restrictions. And it is easy to join these pioneers and maintain complete anonymity. We even have interactive HTML tutorials available in Girl Links as an aid to learning the basics of building a web site. Once you feel ready to begin construction of your site, you should follow the procedures outlined in these answers to these FAQ below, and keep the guidelines of what is and is not acceptable content closely in mind.

Please remember too, it costs a lot to provide these services. GLGarden.org and GirlChat survive by your donations. Our capital expenditures have spiraled dramatically now that we are totally independent; and, this is becoming more expensive as we enter the process of increasing our bandwidth in order to achieve our community's dream of creating a world wide Girl Love Foundation. But we need to fund the birth of our organization adequately. We'd love it if you could afford to contribute by cash, or money order donation as a token of your appreciation and support -- even if you personally do not plan to put up a Web Page of your own. In this way you too will be doing your community a great service on this landmark day of small beginnings. Please contact our Treasurer for information on how to make your donation anonymously by money order or by cash. Thanks. :-)

Now, here are some frequently asked questions (FAQ).

(1)

Once we get your application and details, we'll set up your account and e-mail you when it's done. We'll include instructions like how to upload files to your account through FTP. Yes, you'll need to give some details with your application so we can set up your account properly:

(2)

What details must I provide in my application?

Now, here are a few additional answers to frequently asked questions:

(3)

What rules should we be aware of in absence of a clear statement of FAQ?

The spirit of the content of our GirlChat FAQ applies herein -- with a few necessary additions.

(4)

How do I make a Web Page?

You have to make your pages about Girl Love. You will find two links in GirlLinks to information that you might find helpful under the topic: Useful Tools. And there are a variety of Web Sites as additional resources on the World Wide Web.

(5)

What type of Web Pages will GLGarden host?

Your pages should add to an understanding of Girl Love topics. We don't take pages that are mainly picture galleries. And we would appreciate that these contain accurate spelling and use language that is commonly understood. Acronyms, abbreviations, and slang, easily understood by Western Girl Lovers, may not be easily translated into Russian: the word tween, as one example - it is currently little known outside the English-speaking world. Therefore, please define your terms at least once, doing so clearly, before you use unfamiliar language. This way, by keeping in mind this last consideration, you will make it far easier for visitors whose first language is not English to appreciate your page. There is no reason for all pages to be easily translatable - a poetry page for example. Poetry is notorious for being untranslatable :) That being said, obscurity of content will lessen a page's chances of being accepted; but we are not outlawing slang used to heighten expressiveness.

Members' pages not in English should be readily intelligible to at least one committee member. Right now the languages covered are German, French and Russian.

(6)

May my Web Page include a Girl Moment story?

Girl Moments, that are tasteful and well written and that are couched from a view that highlights friendships or other light hearted encounters are definitely on topic. However, do not reveal the identity of any LG or TG. And don't include details that evoke a prurient interest in sexual relations. Written materials that appear erotic, or that advocate or counsel engaging in sexual activity with a minor constitutes a very serious offence under the Criminal Code of Canada. Yet the laws, in Canada, as in the U.S. and the U. K., are open to broad, negative interpretation. Thus if your Web Page includes a Girl Moment your material must be in full compliance with these laws so that when viewed with a prejudicial eye they could not be seen as openly advocating, counseling, inducing, nor encouraging sexual intimacy with minors. The U.S., likewise, has laws in certain States against the dissemination of written materials depicting explicit sexual acts between adults and minors. Therefor, Girl Moments are generally discouraged; however, one well written, and that respects the guidelines of the rules expressed in these FAQ, will be well received.

Girl Moments have been beautifully depicted on Girl Chat numerous times. Hence, coming into compliance with U.S., U. K., and Canadian law should not affect one's ability to write of Girl Moments that will enchant the heart, elevate the spirit, and perhaps persuade the mind of our opposers to shed a preconceived bias or two toward Girl Love -- and we can do so without breaking the law.

(7)

What other type of Web Page content should I avoid including?

We have many members from the U. K. as well as the U.S. and Canada at Girl Chat. Your pages, therefore, must be legal to view in the U.S., U. K., and Canada. When we become multi-lingual, we will consider the pertinent laws of other nations as well in our FAQ. Do not include direct libelous statements about any individual. In fact, our contract with our upstream ISP states: Transmission, distribution or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited. This includes, without limitation, material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right used without proper written authorization, and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export control laws. We can not stress these contractual and legal considerations enough.

(8)

May I link to other Web Pages?

The short answer is yes; you may do so if the Web Site is on topic and contributes significantly to underscoring your study of Girl Love issues.

(9)

What is an example of a link that is disallowed?

Links should comply with the above statement of suitability and necessity. We don't take pages that link to material considered illegal in the US or Canada. Before you link to another forum or chat site you must secure permission from the Web Master. Do not link to any site that would be in violation of these FAQ if they were hosted by GLGarden nor to any site that links to such above referenced subject matter.

(10)

I recall an interesting Web Page, may I reduplicate its information.?

You may quote information that is pertinent to your points. But give credit where it is due. And, overall, be original. We do not accept mirror or duplicate sites. And avoid copyright infringement entirely. This is especially important, on the net, in view of legal judgments entanglements. The Napster fiasco is an example. Do not post copyrighted music that can be downloaded -- not even music that is viewed as being on topic by GLs.

(11)

I am a naturist. May I add tastefully depicted nude art or photos?

We do not accept nude pictures nor graphics depicting nudity.

(12)

May I use a GIF or JPG of a well known masterpiece that depicts nudity?

The only exception that will remotely be considered is in an instance where a painting or sculpture is a clearly identified and recognized, unaltered, un copyrighted, classical work of art; and, then it must not be defined as lewd nor erotic in the U.S. nor Canada. And it must be obviously helpful in assisting your audience to better grasp a point. For example, if you feel you need to use a work by Michelangelo, in an effort to explain that the nude form of a youth was not held to be immoral in early civilizations, you will need to notify the Web Master of your intention and state why it is justifiable in the context of your study. A decision will be made after review if an exception may be made; but, the Web Master will agree to do so sparingly and with a critical eye. No classical works of nude art will be allowed simply for purposes of ornamentation. And, as we grow to become a multi-lingual site we will have to take under advisement the facts pertinent to the laws of the lands that will be likely to review our Site.

(13)

May I post fiction on my Web Page?

Yes, certainly. However, fiction that relates illegal activity is not acceptable. For example, fiction relating sexual intergenerational intercourse is illegal in Canada; additionally, its dissemination has been ruled an offence in certain States in the U.S.; therefor, you may not post sexually explicit erotic fiction. (compare with question #6).

Also keep in mind that the fiction must be original unless it is clear that no copyright exists.

(14)

May I put a guest book or a counter on my page?

No. Do not attempt to install external scripts without the GLGarden Webmaster's permission. No site must host an external stats gatherer. This is for users' privacy. We will make available a counter for our users. We continue to discuss providing other relevant Web Page assistance to the community, such as guest books, in Committee. Much depends on the funds that we have available to us for extras. Again, we are just getting off on our own, It is by your regular donations that we will better assure our survival and continued growth.

(15)

What is the penalty for non compliance with the FAQ?

Note: Breaches of these rules, with the obvious exceptions of using slang, bad HTML, or making spelling errors, will result in a warning or deletion of your page without notice--depending on the urgency of the call for the GL Committee to act expeditiously.

(16)

Ok! How large of a Web Page may I construct?

The Deal:

GLGarden offers 5 MB of space to users in which to build pages that explore Girl Love in all its aspects. Priority is given to pages that address the philosophy, history, theory or ethics of the modern Girl Love movement. No application will be denied because GLGarden may disagree with the views held by a requesting author; however, we reserve the right to deny an application or terminate an account without notice if necessary.

(17)

Is there anything else I should know?

When in doubt ask.

    In Summary:

Again, it is not GLGarden's policy to host pages that are primarily picture galleries, though galleries within pages are permitted. Nude photographs are prohibited due to the vague obscenity laws around the world. Any posting of nude photographs or any graphic depiction of persons under the age of 18 engaged in any sort of sexual activity may result in the immediate deletion of the page. Do not reduplicate copyrighted materials. The rules of any FAQ are always in it's Beta stages. We will update the FAQ to allow for more freedoms of content as laws are relaxed in our favor. Meanwhile, adherence to these FAQ will ensure www.glgarden.org enjoys a long existence as a resource for exchanging information of interest to Girl Lovers as well as assuring its continued growth as a podium for understanding.
